ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc., is currently recruiting for a Senior Reimbursement Accountant position for our Administration department located in Long Beach, CA. The Senior Reimbursement Accountant will be responsible for preparation of various county compliance reporting including Medi-Cal cost reports. This position will have primary responsibility for monitoring several county contract compliance filings and deadlines, along with reviewing and adjusting Accounting policies to remain compliant. The position will assist in the budget variances analysis and preparation, and support the Controller in various duties and Ad-hoc assignments. The Senior Reimbursement Accountant shall possess: - Bachelor's degree in Finance/Business/Accounting; AND - Minimum of three (3) years accounting, GL, and financial reporting experience. - Thorough knowledge of financial and cost reporting principles and practices. - Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus, particularly with cost reimbursement methodologies. - Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership. - Intermediate to advanced knowledge/skills of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with knowledge of various computerized accounting systems. - Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. - Master's degree of Busi ness Administration is preferred. - CPA is preferred. Job Requirements:The Senior Reimbursement Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:* Review/research monthly cost center revenue/expense variances.* Maintain updated and relevant FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) knowledge, regulations and standards.* Prepare, review and analyze Medi-Cal cost reports, including filing appropriate Medi-Cal appeals to optimize revenue.* Monitor county contract compliance filings and deadlines. Review, recommend and adjust Accounting policies to remain compliant.* Evaluate and identify weaknesses within ChildNet's accounting procedures and internal controls. Provide recommendations to senior management for consideration.* Assist with month-end close preparation; review and analyze GL, Trial Balance. Assist with balance sheet schedules, and income statement schedules where needed.* Review Receivable balances and reconcile to the GL.* Analyze cost report financial position, including appropriate A/R reserves and cost report liabilities.* Collaborate with executive financial leadership to ensure cost report data is accurate.* Prepare various county compliance reports.* Assist organization with external audits and reviews.* Perform any other duties as assigned.EOE M/F/V/DWHO WE AREChildNet Youth and Family Services, is a nonprofit corporation, headquartered in Long Beach, CA.
