do it!The Director of Fluid Systems is responsible for the Neutron
Launch Vehicle fluids systems, it's staff, operations and
stakeholders. The systems are starting from a clean sheet design, a
team needs to be created and direction to achieve the necessary
product functionality with the required quality and cost objectives
of the company. -Technical
- 10+ years aerospace management or equivalent relevant
experience
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and
motivate a team
- Proven experience working to deadlines in a high-pressure
environment
- Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong
working relationships
- The ability to develop and maintain relationships with a broad
range of people of varying backgrounds, and to be adept at engaging
with those people in a sensitive and appropriate
manner.Relationships
- Manage the team direction---to align with the CEO
expectations---for product design and function
- Manage relationship with---the---VP-Launch Systems---for
alignment of department goals, function and output---to meet
company expectations
- Manage relationships and coordinate with stakeholders, effected
parties, contractors and services involved with the fluid
systemsManagement
- Collaborate with other company managers and team leads to
optimize resource and delivery of required company outcomes -
- Administer company policies, systems and procedures -
- Financial management of the fluid systemsCommunication
- Clear communication to direct reports, senior management and
across the company when required to share information timely and
efficiently
- Weekly reporting on the status of the system (progress, issues,
timeline, support required etc.)
- Monthly and annual reporting on quality, cost and delivery
elements of the fluid systemsContracts and Compliance
- Responsible for the commercial contracts for equipment, goods
and services to support the fluids systems
- Stakeholders are managed and appropriately informed of company
requirements and activities
- Ensure security requirements are upkept to meet company IP and
ITAR control requirements
- Ensure infrastructure and activities align with regulatory
requirements of local and central governmentLeadership
- Lead to achieve company vision and values
- Lead by example on work ethic, decision making, attention to
detail and attitude in all scenarios that are faced at the facility
and by the teamUpkeep of direct reports (one on ones, goal setting,
goal reviews, recognition, coaching and discipline) -
- Recruitment of direct reports where required
- Development of direct reports (mentorship, training and
development)
- Recognized leader within the industry and with stakeholders in
the best interest of the company
- Understand gaps in resources and manages these
shortfallsDecision Making
- Make concise decisions that result in the best quality, cost
and delivery outcomes for the business
- Understand when critical information is lacking to make
decisions and drive to obtain this information in a timely
manner
- Understand when peer review is required for decisions and seek
this review or sign off before proceeding -
- Make sound decisions with minimal information to achieve the
necessary outcomes for the business as appropriateOperations
- Staff deliver fluid system design, build and test outcomes to
the required quality and delivery schedule of the company
- Work with existing and new company practices wherever
applicable to deliver fluid system outcomes
- Able to identify and optimize applicable company practices or
process to improve quality, cost and delivery Important
