and self-motivated Safety and Health professional with a solid
track record of leading implementation of safety and health
programs in an operating environment. We are looking for innovative
and successful Safety and Health candidates who are

health management systems. The Regional Safety Manager (RSM) is an
experienced, energetic, dedicated, versatile, self-motivated health
and safety professional that has proven leadership skills and is a
relationship builder with a solid track record of leading
implementation of safety and health programs in an industrial

strategic and impactful.YOUR SCOPE:The Regional Safety Manager
(RSM) will report to the Vice President of Health and Safety and is
responsible for helping to develop and implement a world class
safety and health culture including coordinating the implementation
of corporate safety and health standards in the western part of the
US, encompassing facilities in Oregon, California and Hawaii. The
RSM Is an active member of the Corporate Safety Department team and
works with field leaders to develop and maintain an annual Safety
Improvement Plan. Primary focus will be on the reduction of
accidents, management of industrial hygiene monitoring programs and
related medical surveillance programs, implementation of
regulatory/Corporate programs and safety program budget costs.Key
Accountabilities of the Regional Safety Manager:
- Fosters the success of programming through strong relationship
with the Senior Director of Maintenance, Maintenance Manager of
Field Services, facility/regional staffs, facility managers, and
the facility safety coordinators.
- Completes quarterly snapshot audits for assigned facilities in
the region and track/report findings.
- Participates in the development and implementation of Corporate
Safety Procedures and programs.
- Maintains spending against corporate budget to the extent
possible.
- Provides coaching, training, and support for facility safety
personnel and other field-based personnel
- Assists the facility safety personnel with the following topics
as needed:
- Preparation of training materials and coordination of weekly
and monthly safety themes. The primary responsibility for these
tasks will remain with the site Safety Coordinator.
- Fit testing.
- Ergonomics evaluations and design changes.
- Hazard control evaluation.
- Evaluation of safety and health program implementation and
maintenance at site level.
- Evaluation of PPE selection.
- Completion and tracking of industrial hygiene sampling and
medical surveillance testing (blood lead levels, hearing testing,
respiratory medical qualifications).
- Provides support for outage planning/participation and
oversight/participation; industrial hygiene sampling, analysis and
reporting data base tracking; accident investigation; fit testing;
JSA hazard identification; ergonomics evaluations and design
changes; hazard control evaluation; program evaluation; active
communication; evaluation of PPE selection; near miss reporting.
When feasible, provides personal oversight at outage planning
meetings and during safety critical aspects of the work such as at
the start of the outage, and at other times as appropriate.
- Supports VPP Star certification and/or recertification efforts
for appropriate work groups.
- Facilitates and/or participates on Accident investigation/Root
Cause Analyses for OSHA-recordable injuries and serious near misses
for CFS-related serious near misses, first aid injuries with
serious potential, and recordable injuries.
- Expected to attend professional growth training courses in the
field of industrial hygiene and safety when available.
- Completes research on special safety and health
topics/equipment needs as appropriate.WHO YOU ARE:Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related
field or Equivalent industrial experienceCertifications (if
applicable):
- Preferred CSP or CIHExperience:
- Minimum of five (5) years in industrial safety and health
environment with strong working knowledge of OSHA, regulations and
with ANSI, NFPA, and NIOSH standards
- Experience working at a regional level or in support of
multiple sitesKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- An ability to actively travel approximately 70% of the
time.
- Flexibility to work if needed (nights, weekends, etc.)
- Self-directed, action-oriented, forward-thinking and creative
individual with high ethical standards.
- An ability to effectively communicate critical information to a
variety of audiences and in potentially stressful situations
- Dynamic leader with a record of achieving results individually

- Project management skills.
- Experience with Leading Indicators is highly desired.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to provide

health/operational focus.

- Articulate, strong communicator, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Visio).
- Willing to work evenings and weekends on a non-routine basis if
needed to support facility operations.

- Contractor Safety and Health ManagementWork Environment and
Physical Requirements:The work environment is highly industrial in
nature with large fluctuations of heat, cold and exposure to
potential hazards
- Able to stand or sit for sustained periods of time.
- Able to climb stairs and ladders; can work at heights if
needed.
- Able to work in confined areas when needed.
- Able to lift equipment that can weigh up to 25 pounds on an
infrequent basis.
- May need to wear personal protective equipment including
respiratory protection, fall protection , safety boots, protective
