atwww.dinebrands.com.The Kitchen Design Manager - will support
A&D, Brand team partners and Franchisees to ensure design
optimization and consistency of restaurant kitchen designs
including IHOP, Applebee's, and Fuzzy's Taco Shop.You will
collaborate with cross functional teams comprised of experts within
Ops and Culinary, as well as business unit leaders torefine and
optimize kitchen platforms.In this role, you are responsible for
critical aspects of developing, optimizing, validating, reviewing
kitchen layouts, equipment specs and the ergonomics of restaurant
layouts to optimize the function and executionof the take, make,
serve process.You will have the opportunity to lead work streams
with critical thinking and problem-solving skills, form hypothesis,
determine design solutions and execute experiments as needed to
solve technical problems and deliver innovative
solutions.Responsibilities:
- Visualize test fits in CAD or digital software, Sketch up
modeling.
- Review test fits, develop site specific kitchen layouts using
brand optimization methodology.
- Manage equipment specifications ensuring that package is
serving the needs of each brand and product delivery line up.
- Evaluate and assess opportunities for improved cost
efficiencies and ESG performance.
- Collaborate with Franchisees, Food service vendors, Ops
Services and Development on all kitchen innovation efforts.
- Collaborate with CSCS and Development Team to monitor equipment
procurement timelines in support of development pipeline.
- Educate and manage external support resources (Food service /
Engineers/ Suppliers) in support of equipment models for each
brand.
- Collaborate with execution partners to review proposed
restaurant conditions and validate test fits, review and refine
kitchen designs as required.
- Assist the A&D team in deploying all aspects of restaurant
design services in delivering the creative direction of the
restaurant environment including layouts, test fits, site
adaptations, vendor production management, consultant
management.
- Development of Tools (cost models, equipment models ect.)Skills
& Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture/ industrial Engineering or
related field required
- 8+ years of progressive experience and knowledge in the field
Restaurant and/or Retail Design
- Demonstrate an understanding and experience in restaurant
operations and equipment integration.
- Proven experience in managing Kitchen equipment specs for high
volume food service outlets.
- Proven record of strong technical capabilities and relationship
building
- Ability to assess, optimize equipment adjacency based on menu
build.
- Team Player, ability to work cross-functionally with all
departments in order to deliver positive outcomes.
- Effective communication and advanced project management
skills
- Be able to work independently on all aspects of restaurant
design & deployment.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have solid planning, collaboration and decision-making
skills.
- Be able to evaluate components of project costs relative to
architecture & design, FF&E with an emphasis on Kitchen
equipment.
- Proficiency in applicable design tools (Revit/AutoCAD,
Sketchup, Adobe CC Suite, Hand Sketching)
- Proficiency in applicable project management programs
(including Microsoft Office Suite)
- Moderate travel required.
