Responsibilities

The Secretary is responsible for the day to day functions and communication of the CARE Dental Clinic front office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, reminder calls, recalls and follow-ups. Assists with referrals, authorizations, and insurance eligibility screening. Maintains up-to-date chart information, including patient demographics, financial and insurance details, and lab documentation. Processes new patient referrals, maintains log books, and participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Provides support to Dental Clinic staff, other CARE departments, and assists with further assignments as required. Must have two years of experience working as dental receptionist. Cross trained with back office a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

* Minimum of two years' experience working as a dental receptionist


* Medical terminology preferred.


* Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.


* High School Diploma or equivalent.
