Therapist, Counselor or Social Worker to work as a Lead Primary
Therapist with a team of passionate and caring staff at our
Shoreline Center in Long Beach. Since 1995, Shoreline Center for
Eating Disorder Treatment, a facility within the Odyssey Eating
Disorder Network, has successfully been helping individuals achieve
recovery from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating
disorder for all genders, ages 13 and over. We offer personalized,

The Lead Primary Therapist is responsible for providing individual,
family, and group psychological services for assigned clients of
Shoreline-Center for Eating Disorder Treatment and is responsible
for overall case management, family education, and support of
assigned clients. This position will have oversight of two 6-bed
RTC locations.
Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing individual, group and family therapy
for clients and subsequent documentation.
- Responsible for the clinical and case management of his/her
assigned clients.
- Assists in identification of treatment/contract goals,
completing the initial psychosocial assessment.
- Responsible for maintaining contact with the assigned clients
referring/outpatient therapist/team during the course of the
clients stay and the family when/if appropriate.
- Responsible for completing Treatment Plan and Discharge Summary
for assigned client.
- Completes and updates treatment plan for assigned clients.
- Assist in providing clinical updates.
- Attends group meetings, meals and other activities in the
milieu to better establish a relationship with clients.
- Provides comprehensive understanding of current behaviors and
relational dynamics while using a variety of therapeutic
modalities.
- Attends the weekly treatment team meetings and share
observations, comments and important information about clients with
the treatment team and provides input into the development of the
weekly schedules for all of his/her assigned clients.
- Responsible for proper charting and ensuring that all
documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner (within
24 hours).
- Work and collaborate regularly with Director of Operations for
all day-to-day operational needs of RTC facilities
- Responsible for conducting chart audits for RTC locations
- Responsible for creating and maintaining RTC program
schedules
- Responsible for coordinating and conducting weekly client and
parent check-ins
- Responsible for scheduling family visitation on a weekly
basis
- Assist in training of RTC therapists
- Assist in on-call leadership duties for RTC locations on a
rotating calendar basis
- Assists in meal/snack supervision as assigned and attends
special occasion activities for the clients.
- Assists with discharge planning, including a written discharge
summary and obtaining referral sources and necessary support
systems once the client is discharged
- Coordinates and execute concurrent insurance reviews,
advocating for client to obtain appropriate levels and continuing
care as needed
- Keeps track of authorized days and be responsible for timely
reviews
- Follows level-of-care and medical necessity guidelines as
established by peer reviewed criteria, including APA and managed
care organizations
- Coordinates and/or perform doctor to doctor reviews between
Shoreline and managed care organizations
- Performs crisis intervention as necessary
- Develops and creates group material, as needed
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities; reading professional publications related to
Shoreline Mission and population.
- Completes any additional tasks assigned by direct
supervisors.ISJP123
- Masters Degree; License (LMFT, LPC, LCSW, PhD) in the state of
California; 2 Years mental health experience with 1 year eating
disorders preferred.
- Position requires incumbent to have a valid drivers license and
vehicle insurance.
