Job Description:
The Hand & Wrist Center is a comprehensive care Center,
specializing in the treatment of hand, wrist and elbow conditions
and injuries. Occupational Therapy (OT) Assistants perform many
important roles directly related to clinical, clerical, and
administrative support in our Occupational Therapy department. Our
Center is looking for a full time Medical Assistant or Certified
Occupational Therapy Assistant to start immediately. This position
requires Covid-19 vaccination. The hourly rate for this position is
negotiable, based on the applicant's education and work experience.
Brief Description of Position OT assistants play an important
primary role in supporting Hand Therapists by expediting clinical
care and other patient treatment. Secondarily, OT assistants are
directly involved in the administrative processing of patient care
(including registration and scheduling), processing patient
payments, and assisting with other administrative duties such as
timely documentation, and the upkeep of the department's inventory
and equipment. This position is a dual-role position including both
clinical and clerical duties. Job Requirements: General Duties: ---
-Clinical duties (assist the Hand Therapist with): --- -Therapeutic
modalities and exercises --- -Setting up for application of
new/replacement bandages --- -Setting up for (prefabricated) splint
fitting or custom fabrication of splints --- -Providing patient
education/instruction --- -Triage and prepare patients for initial
and follow-up therapy examinations --- -Assist in scheduling
therapy appointments --- -Assist in the dispensing of therapy
supplies, durable medical goods, and other items when applicable
--- -Maintain all patient-treatment areas stocked with appropriate
therapy (and office) supply inventories --- -Assist in daily/weekly
cleaning and sanitizing of patient-treatment areas, equipment and
furniture, and clinical instruments --- -Assist with the management
of medical supply and linen inventory --- -Clerical duties (assist
the Therapy department with): --- -Patient registrations, check-in
and check-out of patients, and maintain ongoing patient record
maintenance accurately and timely --- -Obtain/confirm complete
benefit/authorization verifications and billing information for all
patient accounts for all initial consultations --- Make
appointments for patients and assist in the management of efficient
patient schedules Physical Requirements: The physical requirements

and predictable attendance is an essential function of this
position - arrive to work on time and manage rest periods and
departures as instructed by Administration --- -This position
requires regular and predictable attendance -Monday through Friday,
as scheduled --- -This position requires early and punctual arrival
(including the daily opening of the facility for the arrival of
patients); typical start time -is between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
(definitive time to be determined) --- -This position may require
late departure (after 5:00 p.m.) depending on daily afternoon
patient flow -and other workflow
