A Day in the Life You will help change the landscape of the rocket launch industry and be an integral and unique part of a close-knit team of individuals operating in a high energy environment. As a Jr. Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the complete ownership of your mechanical system. From need, to concept, through manufacturing, construction, and operation. You will need to foster the cooperation, knowledge, and discoveries required to ensuring the creation and functionality of your system.Your Mission Become the subject matter expert for your mechanical projects. These projects require collaboration with other highly motivated team members, it is the entire system that must work together. Peer review other team member's work. Move on to the next challenge. Fresh minds and fresh ideas will often dictate your next assignment. Expect to move around the architecture as your great ideas can lead to your next great project. You Have Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 0-5 years of Engineering experience Machining and fabrication experience Sound intuition, a practical design approach, FEA and CAD experience, comfortable in MATLAB or python Submit a description/photo/video URL of your previous great side project. Strongly Desired Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Experience with industrial scale systems Knowledge in some of the following: Mechanism design, GD, dynamics and vibrations, hands-on testing and data acquisition, composite design Core talent of a championship student group (SAE, DBF, Hyperloop, etc.) ITAR Requirements SpinLaunch is required by the U.S. Government to comply with various space technology export regulations including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident ("green card holder") as defined by ITAR (22 CFR 120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
