Craft Aerospace is all about making use of our existing infrastructure to make long distance travel faster, easier, and more accessible to our customers. By utilizing existing infrastructure and through the development and creation of the Craft designs, this future will become a reality.

The Craft aircraft is a novel design, featuring a blown lift configuration enabling hover and shorter takeoffs combined with traditional methods of landing. This will allow it to operate out of existing helipads and also shorter existing runways such as municipal and regional airports.

Are you able to create vehicle level trade studies and determine vehicle performance requirements with nothing more than hand calculations and some equations? Are you able to balance and track vehicle configuration, powertrain, mass, controllability, safety, and conops trades all the while keeping an eye out for the certification process requirements?

The vehicle team is responsible for the development of the vehicle system where decisions are made by performing trades studies that balance the physics and operations. As a vehicle systems lead, you will be responsible for interfacing across multiple teams to ensure that our next vehicle continues to meet its performance requirements.

To be effective in this role, you will need to be a flexible and team player in order to accomplish the company goals. As part of your responsibility, you will need to be able to inform and influence the direction of the vehicle design and align your team to navigate the technical landscape, looking for the optimal path to a solution that balances time, cost, and complexity.

Your Responsibilities:
Be the company knowledge base for anything related to the vehicle and its performance
An active communicator across teams to explain vehicle design concepts and trades
Manage and track vehicle requirements for the vehicle, influence stakeholders
Design of the aircraft and subsystem models for use in MDO trade studies

Your Suggested Backgrounds Could Be From:
Performing trade studies to arrive at suggested prototype configuration and tests
Requirements management of an aircraft and its prototype/production schedule
Aerodynamic modeling, verification, and validation of aircraft designs
Structural component and assembly modeling, verification, and validations
Vehicle powertrain component modeling, verification and validations
Design of aircraft vehicle controls and autonomous systems
Integration of business requirements into the vehicle system design
Performing bench tests of different subsystem components and models
Supporting or leading an aircraft certification process
