US-CA-Long Beach Canon Solutions America, Inc.Requisition ID: 26972Category: Human ResourcesPosition Type: Full-TimeOverviewAs a subject matter expert in Employee relations, leads initiatives for ER business process and procedures which contribute to the development of new concepts. Provides creative and innovative solutions to a variety of complex ER/HR related problems. Analyzes complex information and statistics to define and solve problems including the ability to make administrative and procedural decisions on sensitive, confidential information. Responsibilities- - Provides problem resolution and facilitation in the areas of employee relations, and employee discipline; advises both employees and management regarding complicated employee relations policies, procedures and documentation. - Responds, in the role of a facilitator/mediator to complex concerns of internal conflicts between employees, employee(s) and\or manager(s). Investigates and recommends ways to resolves conflicts as appropriate for each issue. Keeps Zone HR Directors informed as to the status and outcomes of investigations.- With Zone HR and Legal, conducts investigations of the most complicated and sensitive internal complaints of discrimination, ethics violations, unfair practices, fraud and theft. Prepares formal reports of findings and recommendations for the review of own manager, and HR Leadership.- Analyzes information and maintains reports on headcount, hires, terminations, reductions in force, turnover, etc. Develops recommendations around the results of the analysis.- Manages voluntary/involuntary severance programs. Conduct cost/benefit analysis to quantify the financial impact of a RIF process to the company. - Creates RIF timelines for manager/employee communications and maintains accurate records of eligible/ineligible/impacted employees. - Generates individualized and state law applicable severance documents and track agreements being sent, returned, executed and rejected.- Interprets various federal, state, and local laws to ensure compliance. - Responds to document requests from external vendors and requests for bid information regarding affirmative action compliance certification.- Monitors the severance pay distribution and act as liaison with Zone HR, payroll and benefits for questions and concerns regarding terms of the severance agreement.- Facilitates and disseminates policies to support the organization's EEO initiatives. File EEO-1 and VETS-100 report annually and maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.- Facilitates completion of the company's Affirmative Action Plan including the preparation and compilation of all required statistical data. Reviews narratives for each of the individual regionalized plans. Reviews compiled statistics for issues or underutilization and adverse impact.- Research, develop and implement policies, procedures, and plans of action to ensure compliance with all equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination provisions of government legislation.- Provides project support on HR change management activities when necessary.- Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.- Offers advice to HR and line management on complex ER issues within areas of expertise.- Develops and conducts training for line and staff management as requested or as necessary. Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 7 years of related experience.- Experience as an ER/HR Representative.- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills. - Demonstrates in expertise in all areas of employee relations and EEO. Has broad and in-depth knowledge of other human resources functions.- Must be able to effectively communicate information on a variety of levels with a broad base of customers. - Must be able to work in a team environment. - Possesses strong customer support skills with a proficiency for problem escalation.- Proficient in Word\Excel.- May require travel to other sites (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary).
