The Job
Contributes to the overall success of IAH through increasing
awareness and client referrals for IAH programs by participating in
community outreach, special events, and meetings with older adults,
service providers and other professionals in the community.
You Will
Develop and analyze strategies and tactics that lead to client
referrals.
Support program operations by performing marketing and outreach
tasks to recruit clients for all programs.
Perform intake functions that include conducting initial
interviews, gathering pertinent information, assessing urgency of
the need, and providing overall program information.
Inform the community and potential clients about IAH services
utilizing approved presentation materials. This includes leading
presentations, group and one-to-one meetings, and responding to 1:1
inquiries and incoming phone calls.
Represent IAH at local events involving older adults, such as
health fairs, educational events, community-based organization
events, senior expos.
Establish, develop and cultivate relationships in the communities
IAH serves. Identify new and relevant organizations to approach,
initiate contact, and work to build partnerships and relationships.
Establish regular meetings at their sites and engage with seniors
and caregivers directly.
Educate and communicate to external audiences about IAH.
Assist with ad-hoc projects and client follow up calls, as
directed.
Communicate and collaborate with respective program supervisor and
teams on referrals, intakes, wait lists and progress towards
enrollment goals.
Record information obtained from all interactions into electronic
documentation (on a monthly task list and, when needed, on a
tracking spreadsheet).
Maintain the member's right to privacy and protect SCAN operations
by keeping information confidential.
Identify and maintain a guide of community resources and
partnerships.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as
needed.
Actively supports the achievement of SCAN's Vision and Goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology,
Communications or related field. Master's Degree in Social Work
(MSW) preferred.
More than 1 year of experience in aging, social service or
healthcare related community services required.
Direct experience with outreach, marketing, or related activities
required.
Ability to work with individuals from diverse social and ethnic
groups.
Ability to handle high volume of referrals, while providing
excellent customer service.
Strong presentation skills in small group setting.
Strong creative thinking, problem solving, and organizational
skills.
Strong interpersonal skills as well as strong written and verbal
communication skills.
Ability to multitask and work with limited supervision.
Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships.
BILINGUAL- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish or Korean.
(Test will be administered to assess proficiency.)
Travel 50% or more of the time in the assigned area. Must have a
valid driver's license, automobile insurance and reliable
transportation.
