Position Description:
The Welcome Baby (WB) Program is a free, voluntary home visitation
program which includes visits with the family by Parent Coaches at
up to nine key points in time, prenatally and during the postpartum
period. The purpose of the program is to provide primary health
prevention and parent education information and to invite and
welcome families into an array of services and support elements
developed in their community. The Parent Coach Lead will visit
families prenatally and postnatally in the home, in a manner that
supports fidelity to the Welcome Baby Model. The Parent Coach Lead
is responsible for supporting families, conducting assessments and
providing parent education in the areas of prenatal and postnatal
care, breastfeeding, parent-infant attachment, child development,
home safety and other maternal and child health related topics;
identifying client strengths, needs, barriers and risks and
providing community resources for those needs; providing and
modeling empathetic support and feedback when working with new
moms, babies and family members. The Parent Coach Lead will work
closely with co-workers and supervisors to provide input into the
development of Welcome Baby documentation, training, procedures and
overall structure of program. The Parent Coach Lead will work
effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as with a
diverse and high risk population.
In addition, The Parent Coach Supervisor will oversee three other
Parent Coaches and provide weekly reflective supervision, which
will include: 1) providing empathetic support and feedback
regarding employee's views, concerns, and challenges with clients;
2) tracking staff's progress with clients; 3) suggesting additional
resources, referrals and strategies for supporting clients; 4)
discussing any performance issues or concerns.The Welcome Baby (WB)

Pay Range: $31 - $46/Hour
Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including,
but not limited to, relevant years of experience and
qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional
compensation available for this role, including but not limited to,
shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus

Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in social service, health related
field and/ or community based home visitation services. Public
Health Program experience a plus.
Experience w/ computer software programs as well as data entry.
At least two years of administrative experience supervising staff
or completion of Supervisor Training (as approved by F5LA) within
three months of hire
At least two years of experience in receiving Reflective
Supervision.
At least two years of experience in home visiting in maternal and
child health.
Bachelor's Degree in a health related field preferred, proficient
in English, prefer bilingual in Spanish/English, written and
verbal. Certified Lactation Educator or willingness to complete the
program to become certified. Must have current CPR certification by
American Heart Association. Must possess and maintain a valid
California State Driver's License, valid vehicle registration, and
liability insurance.
