Join our team and receive leadership development opportunities to expand your career in the healthcare field, while receiving competitive pay and learning from colleagues in a positive environment.Admissions Coordinator RequirementsKnowledge of long-term care patient needsFully vaccinated against COVID-19 including Booster shotsRequires mental maturity to deal with fast-paced work environmentMust be able to cope with mental and emotional stress related to working with persons who are ill, disabled, elderly and/or emotionally upset, and/or memory impairedMust be able to manage resident behavior that includes verbal outbursts, combative behavior, striking out, and memory impairmentAbility to speak Spanish or any other non-English language helpful but not requiredMust be aware of and understand the needs of the residentsPrimary Admissions Coordinator ResponsibilitiesComplies with the facilitys attendance policy requiring regular, reliable, and punctual attendanceProvides tours of facility, explains services, and distributes brochuresPerforms rounds every morning to assure vacant rooms are presentable during toursDetermines primary and secondary payers. Obtains all pertinent documents, and prepares and types Admission AgreementMedicare: Verifies coverage for Part A & B. Obtains copy of residents Medicare card. Verifies available days, identifies prior stay, and secondary payer. Collects co-insurance on Private Pay patientsMedi-Cal: Verifies eligibility; determines and collects share of cost, obtains TARs and Medi-Cal plastic ID cardSSI: Notifies SSI of admission and assists in application for long-term care. o HMO: Verifies plan coverage, obtains authorization, number of days covered and copy of card. Verifies payer name and billing address, level of care, and determines co-paymentWorking with residents family or responsible party, obtains signatures on consent forms and assists in state and regulatory application processInitiates TARs on the day of admission on all patients with Medi-Cal coverage even if they are admitted under MedicareEducates social service and office staff on admitting functions to maintain admitting flow while Admitting/Marketing Coordinator is performing external marketing functionTakes inquiries in completing the forms contained in the residents financial folder and admission packetParticipates in admissions and rehab meetingsAssists in calling hospital for referrals and daily follow-upCoordinates with case managers, discharge planners, and social workers from referral source to ensure smooth transfer of residentsConducts a tour of the facility as needed for discharge planners and familiesInforms nursing and other department managers of potential admissionsTracks HMO patients length of stay and progressFollows up with family members during placement on discharge statusParticipates in the internal quarterly quality assurance programOther duties as assigned by the AdministratorPAY SCALE: $22 to $26Depending on a number of factors, including, but not limited to location, regularly scheduled work shift, knowledge, skills, experience, and expertise.#NNby Jobble
