OCSD is currently looking to fill the role of Maintenance Superintendent. Under general direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Superintendent will supervise and coordinate multiple program activities and operations within the Operations and Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for all maintenance activities at one of the District's two treatment plants; accomplish work objectives through first-line supervisory staff; coordinate assigned activities with the other treatment plant Maintenance Superintendent, Chief Plant Operators, as well as other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public. The Maintenance Superintendent will work closely with first-line supervisory staff, and will have overall maintenance responsibility for a treatment plant. This position will also be expected to provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Superintendent may also be responsible for maintenance activities that span both treatment plants or support the Collection System maintenance. The Maintenance Superintendent will also be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the assigned treatment plant, maintenance activities that span both treatment plants and maintenance activities in support of the Collection Systems and related equipment and facilities; will perform diverse, specialized, and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibility. The Maintenance Superintendent will be expected to organize and oversee day-to-day maintenance activities of the assigned treatment plant and will be responsible for providing professional-level support to management in a variety of areas and interpret, explain and monitor compliance to District policies and procedures. Duties will include the coordination of staffing, organization, and operational activities of all maintenance functions at a treatment plant; directs coordinates and reviews the work plan for civil, electrical, facilities, instrumentation and mechanical maintenance services and activities to ensure integration, consistency and implementation effectiveness; collaboration with Maintenance Supervisors in assigning work; carries out the District safety program; ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations. This individual will also be detail-oriented, highly organized, and will have experience using engineering software and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Key Performance Objectives: Oversee the implementation of the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Full implementation of best maintenance practices, including establishing key performance indicators (KPI's). Effective implementation of predictive monitoring technologies and applying reliability centered maintenance practices across all maintenance disciplines. Participates in the development and administration of assigned program budget and forecasts funds for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensure field support is provided for operations and construction activities. Ensure that staff attend all required safety, technical, and general training Ensure that District safety standards are met by all Maintenance staff. Ensure that District policies, procedures, and core values are adhered to by all Maintenance staff. Qualifications & Requirements: A Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education, with major course work in engineering, construction management, maintenance management, business or public administration, or related field; and Six (6) years of work experience maintaining civil structures and grounds, wastewater collection system, mechanical equipment, electrical distribution or instrumentation systems including three (3) year's comparable to a Maintenance Supervisor (for a description of the Maintenance Supervisor position, visit www.ocsd.com, jobs, class & compensation) or two (2) years of supervisory experience; and A valid California Class C Driver's License. Desired Qualifications A valid certification from the Society of Maintenance Reliability Professionals as a Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional. Prior experience working in water/wastewater design or environmental/sanitary engineering for a local government utility or municipality.
