science, we’re in. Are you? About the Role: Insmed is seeking an
associate scientist with significant experience with droplet
digital PCR (ddPCR). This scientist will be responsible for design
and development of ddPCR assays, quantitating DNA and mRNA from
both in vitro and in vivo samples. Additionally, the scientist will
document his/her methods and studies and participate in the
technical transfer of assays to third party contractors. The
scientist will expand molecular and product specific assay
development by working with the analytical development team. Beyond
ddPCR expertise, proficiency in the following is required: general
cellular and molecular biology including tissue processing, western
blot, cloning, general mammalian cell culture and transfection.
What You'll Do: Mastery and execution of ddPCR assays developed in
partnership with supervisor Following protocols and SOPs related to
ddPCR lab work with in vitro and in vivo samples Extraction of DNA,
RNA and protein from samples for analysis Western Blotting
(traditional Western Blotting and automated quantitative Western)
Documentation of results in appropriate formats provided by
supervisor Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, or similar
field of study and 5 years of industry experience or Master’s
degree in Biology and 3 years of industry experience Significant
and demonstrated experience in operation of BioRad ddPCR equipment
(QX200, QX1), as well as assay development and optimization, assay
interpretation. Organization of experiments and protocol writeups
for developing R&D experiments. Knowledge of Good Documentation
Practices and Good Laboratory Practices (GxP) is a plus. Excellent
communication skills with ability to interact professionally with
colleagues and present research results in written reports and team
presentations. Willingness to learn new techniques and train other
laboratory staff in technical matters. Entrepreneurial spirit, with
strong willingness to take on new challenges required to bring
novel medicines to the clinic. Strict adherence to environmental,
health, and safety guidelines. Pay Range: $89,000.00-119,267.00
